I can't believe we have been back from Costa Rica for 2 months. It's crazy it feels like we were there just yesterday. Looking back now I really miss being there and having that quality time with my classmates. There were up's and down's on the trip but overall more up's. I grew close to people I thought I would never be close too. I now have a travel bug and wanna travel everywhere. Costa Rica was just so beautiful and so fun to learn about. I will never forget Costa Rica I learned so much on this trip that I will carry with me in my everyday life as well as for the rest of my life. Before we left Costa Rica we each individually chose research projects. My research project was about the fish In Costa Rica and the fish in New Hampshire. I created a powerpoint on each fish in both locations, which included the weight what they ate and where they spawned.
Here Is my Project
Welcome
I have lived my life relying on what others could do for me. I have never been able to complete a challenge on my own. Going to Costa Rica is my challenge and I am dedicated to complete that challenge. The challenge to me is working hard to earn what I need. The Costa Rica class as a whole needs to raise 15,000 dollars in order to go. With the hard work and dedication that I am willing to offer I am proud to say there is no doubt in my mind that we will reach this goal. The one thing that stands out to me the most about wanting to experience Costa Rica is the culture. It has been one of my dreams to go out of the country and experience their culture and relate it to mine. When I say culture I mean their difference of style of living compared to mine as in, food, housing, clothes, and environment. So I cant wait to explore and see what Costa Rica has in store for me!

This is so amazing
A big part of this trip for me has been overcoming my fears. I have done so many things that I have been highly afraid of. I do have to say the feeling of overcoming your fears is amazing. Today we went zip lining and it was amazing. The first couple of zip lines I was okay going on by myself. But once I got to the extremely high ones I wanted a guide to go with me, because I could feel the chills of fear running through my body.I knew that if someone else went with me that had experience I would be okay. When I went on my first zip line I just sat back at first I was nervous that I weighed to much but I just sat and relaxed my body. While on the zip line I looked at all of the scenery around me. It was beautiful I could see all of the bright green trees surrounding me. Some of the leafs that I was looking at where big enough to be a blanket! I was going so fast I literally felt like I was flying. I could feel the cool air hitting my face.I felt as if I was becoming a new person because i had these thoughts and emotions that i had never had before. I typically I would not do something like this I would chicken out. But I have done everything!!! The time is flying by. I have so many experiences and memories to share with people.

PURA ViDA
Wow I don't know where to begin. I will start off by saying that this Trip has been such an amazing experience so far. I have done so many things such as hiking, the waterfall, horseback riding , guided tours, as well as walking miles a time In which i usually would not do. I have also gotten closer to some of my classmates. April 7, 2011 we went horseback riding. It was my second time ever going horseback Riding. The minute I got on the horse the excitement began to run through my body. Although I was excited the thought of me falling off of the horse was still in my head! Especially when the horses began to gallop. But once we got going I felt like a whole new person. The thought of wow I really did this I am here in costa rica kept running through my mind. We also went to the San Luis waterfall the same day which was so much fun. The water was a bit chilly but I got used to it. At first I did not want to go in but I knew that it it was a once in a lifetime chance. I am looking forward to the many more adventures ahead and can not ask to share them!

Arenal
Guanacaste
Monteverde
These are all of the places we will be staying at while in Costa Rica! I am very excited to visit each one and learn more about them. But most of all I am looking forward to visiting Guanacaste. My research project is about the coast, so it will be very interesting for me. Arenal is going to be fun considering I have never seen a volcano before. Monteverde is where we are staying for most of the time. The book we had read as a class Walking With Wolf was based in Monteverde so that is why we are staying there the longest. I just can not wait to get there and do fun things with my class mates and just have an amazing expierence.

Only 47 DAYS UNTILL WE LEAVE FOR COSTA RICA!
We have now decided in class that Wednesday’s is our day to discuss as a group about planning for the trip. As of right now are main focus is our research projects, and to post at least a blog once week. While discussing with another classmate about the trip. I began to get emotional. I never thought I would be doing something like this. I am proud of myself for all of the work I have accomplished not only for my classmates, but also for my community. . Like I have mention in my recent blog posts, it still has not hit me that I am going to Costa Rica. I am so excited for the whole experience! Have you ever had an experience that has changed your life?

~UPDATE~
Just a quick update. I will be posting at least one blog weekly to fill everyone in on what is going on. Today while discussing things in class we brought up the fact that we all have our passports. This is very exciting considering some have been waiting so long to get them. Costa Rica is less than two months away. I can honestly say that it still has not hit me that I am going to Costa Rica for 10 days. BUT I AM!

After all the blogging about chapters and fundraising etc... It's now time to start working our research projects. At first I did not think that the book was going to give me and any ideas or understanding of What I am going to do for my research project. But not only did it give me an idea it also made me feel a connection. I am not only looking forward to seeing how my own research project turns out but other's as well. All this hard work is worth it !!!! I know that me and my class mates can do it, because look at what we have already done.
